Looking for reviews of the movie. I'm considering buying the DVD.

...this was the pilot movie for a TV series that never materialized - found only this Leonard Maltin blurb: http://us.imdb.com/Maltin?0097700

. . . :o . . .

actually, i believe it was a tv movie by micheal mann, that is sort of a watered down version of heat made before he made it.

...well... ahh... that's exactly what Maltin's blurb says...

I don't see why anyone would purchase LA Take Down, , when Heat is way way better, I would not mind renting it, but if you have Heat or considering getting Heat at some time, then your going to be watching Heat, the film Michael Mann did to his perfection, with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

LA Take Down, worth a rent just to see Michael Mann with not so good actors, and see how it was the jumping point to the classic HEAT.

If you watch Heat, then watch LA take down, you'll be disappointed, if you watch LA takedown, then watch Heat, you'll wonder why you purchased LA takedown.
