EARLY REVIEW: APOCALYPSE NOW REDUX

Today, I was at my Blockbuster when I saw four copies of Apocalypse Now Redux out for rental a little early. I wish it was on sale, though. Also, the film is on one disc, not two. Anyway, I decided to rent it and here's an early review.

Picture - The colors are so vivid, especially during the opening sequence and the "Caribou Sacrifice." The colors are a little bit dull in the later part of the film, during the love scene between Martin Sheen and Aurore Clement (love scene, not sex scene).

Sound - The sound on the film is DD 5.1 and it sounds the same as it did if you saw it in a theater.

Extras - As always, Paramount is crabby on the extra features. The only special feature is the theatrical trailer for Redux.

Menu - The menu is very impressive. It starts out with footage of the Kurtz Compound's destruction, then it cuts to the main menu, which features clips from the film.

If you're a fan of either version of Apocalypse Now, then buy Apocalypse Now Redux as soon as it comes out on Tuesday.

Just wondering about ReduxGuy. You don't work for Paramount or Zoetrope, do you? Your username and recent joining date seem a little funny.

Sorry if I'm wrong. You're just pushing this disc pretty hard.

No, I don't work for Paramount and I'm not affiliated with American Zoetrope. I'm just a high school student who has good ideas for DVD's.
