DVDfile Sneaks in Godfather Review...

Sorry if this was posted before, or belongs in the review forum, but as the title says, the Godfather collection review is up...

Hmmm. Review of audio/video/extras is mildly disappointing. Of course I'm going to buy the set for the first 2 movies (GF1 is my #1 fave of all-time)...but after reading that review I'm certainly not any more excited about 10/9 than I was before.

i tend to think that DVDFile is a bit too nitpicky when it comes to their audio and video reviews, so i don't get too worried when they write 2 paragraphs about all of the imperfections in a transfer. the bottom line is that this is going to be the best possible way to watch the Godfather films period. although i do wish the dvd's included the original mono soundtracks.

I thought I'd dust off my DVD Talk username and post that I had the opportunity to view an advance screening of The Godfather DVD last night at friends house and I was blown away. I didn't own a laserdisc player so the only versions I've seen are on cable. I suspect that a lot of other movie fans are the same so you'll not be disappointed when you see the DVD for the first time.

Sensational.

I can't wait for my pre-order.

For some reason the 70's didn't bring us the best in image quality. Bland colors, and grainy pictures seem to dominate most films from this time period. This review is about what I expected. It should still be an awesome box set....
