The Crow: 2 Disc CE
 

I know this dvd has been out for some time, but i just picked it up today at walmart ($18.00 -not a bad deal). i was very impressed with the overall quality of the picture due to the fact that the entire movie is dark night scenes. (and seeing that the dark scenes seem to give dvd's grain problems at times --not at all on this set!). just wanted to say that...if anyone else wants to share their thoughts on this awesome movie or on the discs post here! dave

I too was impressed with this disc.
However, several of us agreed that they should have added a supplement-retrospective of the tragedy.

While I love the transfer and the sound, the fact is that there is a gaping hole in the extras. There is absolutely no participation from director Alex Proyas who also directed Dark City.

The truly awful thing is that there was in fact a documentry made and a commentary track with Alex Proyas that was recorded but both of these great supplements were left off the disc. The reason for this is that the producer who is on the existing track had Buena Vista remove all input from Proyas because he threatened to drop from the next sequal of the Crow if they included the Proyas' extras. Buena Vista complied and then guess what? The plans for another sequel were dropped altogether.

So while I do like the supplements that are on the disc, I cannot help but feel that there is something important missing. Proyas was a key force in the style and feel of the film and he is nowhere to be found on the disc. As such, this disc will never be a complete SE of the film until we hear Proyas' input.
