Halloween question
Which version is better, the theatrical version or the extended version? Does the added footage add to the overall feel to the film, or is it just filler? Finally, is there a big difference in picture quality between the added footage and the regular footage? Thanks.

Mixed answer...
First off both the theatrical and television versions are
presented in anamoprphic widescreen (2.35:1).
Unfortunately, unlike the theatrical version, the T.V.
presentation IS NOT a 5.1 mix.
As for the 12 minutes of additional footage, these were
scenes that shot for use in the TV version of HALLOWEEN II.
Since there was graphic violence and sexual content cut for
TV, HALLOWEEN II was way too short for broadcast. These additional scenes answered some questions raised by the theatrical cut of HALLOWEEN and are now presented as part
of the original film's (HALLOWEEN) broadcast version. Yes,
these scenes add some claification about Michael, but they
tend to slow down the pacing of the film. It is definitely worth watching and the LE is great for it contains both versions.
