I love this movie but wonder if the DVD is worth the money. Has anyone seen it or own it? What are the extras? Help!

The picture quality is pretty good given the age of the film. It is widescreen (2.35:1), which is a treat.

There's a decent commentary track and a really entertaining documentary. If you love the movie, you will definitely enjoy the DVD.

The picture is anamorphic and looks great on my 65" HDTV. The sound was also pretty good (DD5.1). Commentary & making-of documentary, plus tv & theater trailers make it a decent special edition too. I wouldn't expect any other version, and if you like the movie at all pick it up.

Don't hesitate - great DVD!

A MUST OWN!

Run, DO NOT walk to get this DVD.
The picture is outstanding when displayed
over a TOSIBA HD set. I've also viewed the
disc over my dad's 4:3 61-inch SONY and it
too looked great. The 5.1 DD soundtrack
is a real treat.

THE LAST STARFIGHTER is 17 years old,
but the Universal DVD is a sight to behold.
What are you waiting for? Grab this one!
DO IT NOW!

Very odd....I just watched this movie again 2 days ago. It never gets old. It has great extras too. Definitely pick it up!

the dvd also has lots of other special edition material including a really great documentary.. hosted by the aged star of the film. This is a great dvd for any fan of the film. On a side note.. I fondly remember my dad taking me to see this when I was in kindergarden. What a time it was to see great 80's sci-fi and fantasy films!

Get this movie through Columbia House. It will be a lot cheaper. I always thought about getting it at Best Buy when I was there, but the price kept me away. With CH you can get it for less than $10. Check out the CH threads.
