Has anyone picked up the new Marilyn collection? If so, what are your thoughts on it? I'm already waiting to shell out for a couple Criterion flicks (don't laugh, I'm a very poor college student) and, of course, the Godfather set. Is this something I should add to my evergrowing Wishful Thinking List?

i've only watched about 1/2 of Bus Stop, and just put the other discs in to skim thru and check the quality. they did an excellant job restoring these movies. Most of the reviews i've seen so far have been positive and they are very impressive , especially when you watch the restoration demos. at $75 (on sale) for the six discs, it was an ok deal. but it'll be around for a while, no need to hurry.
as for the movies themselves, i don't have much use for Millionaire or Show Business, and Bus Stop is a little irritating (imho it's one of the shrillest movies ever made). Gentlemen and 7 Year Itch are the only ones i can watch repeatedly, but it's great to finally see most of them in widescreen so i didn't have a problem popping for the set.

I'm actually not a huge fan, and I'm not sure how much re-watch value the DVDs will have for me. However, getting the set was worth it for the "FINAL DAYS" documentary -- really fascinating.

If you love the movies, it's definitely worth it. They look really good and have a few extras.

Have watched SEVEN YEAR ITCH and GENTLEMAN PREFER BLONDES and I must say that the picture quality is a miracle! I look and I see no fault at all! FOX should be commended for the restoration of these films along with the magnificent looking CLEOPATRA! As far as older films it ranks right up there with the DVD presentations of SPARTACUS: CC and NORTH BY NORTHWEST! It's THAT good!

I have to agree with the other statements. Haven't been able to watch everything yet, but what I have seen is phenomenal. Definitely one to pick up at some point, that's for sure, if you like the classics.
