My wife and I have been getting into horror movies heavily lately. We have recently purchased some great Anchor Bay titles and are interested in getting others as well. Can anyone who has these DVDs let me know how the audio, video, and the movies themselves rate? They all are 16X9 enhanced, with new DD 5.1 soundtracks and retail for a nice $24.99!

Thanks!

I managed to find one old, but brief thread about The Car and it made the DVD sound worthwhile.

Anyone know anything about the other 2?

I recently bought the "Maximum Overdrive" DVD and really enjoyed it. The movie was actually better than I'd remembered and the picture quality was very good. The AC/DC soundtrack is also a plus!

Love my Maximum Overdrive DVD, also check out CineSchlock's review for more insight, I tend to agree with his opinion.

Thanks for the plug, weargle. By all means, buy two copies of Maximum Overdrive and give the second to an unenlightened friend. We must spread the good news.

And ?, I reviewed The Killing Hour many moons ago. You'll probably enjoy it more than I did.

May I ask why you think I'd enjoy it more than you did?

Based on your review, I'd be best to rent it first.

I crack up when reading your "notables" section of the reviews...

Notables: Two breasts. Five corpses. Psychic doodling. Corpse fishing. Elevator disaster. Drowning. One dead dog. Gratuitous Dennis Wolfberg. Voluntary freefall. Electrocution. One sissy brawl. Window diving. Strangulation. Runaway car. S&M diddling.
