Ok here is my situation. I have the Bose Accoustimass3 and the V300 package as my surrounds and center. Since i switched to a digital reciever I dont get as much base. My reciver is a kenwood 500watt x 5 with a sub preout connection. I am looking for a subwoofer to complete my home theater system. I dont want to go expensive since i just purchased a house and am strapped for cash. If anyone one could name some brand/model #'s. I know at Radio Shack they have some RCA Subs for under $200. Any help appreciated.

I have never heard the Sony sub, but with all the good reviews it has gotten I am sure it would be a better choice for the money than a RCA sub from the Shack!

subwoofer
Ok, here is what BOSE said about my situation:
"Regarding the subwoofer or LFE output: visualize the Acoustimass home theater system as having the same components as large floorstanding speakers. The difference is that Acoustimass® technology has allowed us to place the large "woofer" (which usually account for most of a floorstanding speaker's bulk) in a hideaway bass
module. The "mid" and "tweeter" components (which require very little space) are replaced by aesthetically pleasing cube arrays.
Optimum performance is achieved from the Acoustimass home theater system when your 5.1 digital receiver's speaker settings are configured as follows:
1) Subwoofer or LFE set to OFF.
2) Front/main speakers set to LARGE.
3) Center channel speaker set to SMALL.
4) Rear/surround speakers set to LARGE.
If you have further questions, please contact us again."
Well thats the way i have it now and it doesnt work. I guess i will have to buy that Sony sub.
