I have a 27 inch Wega and a Trinitron computer monitor. I dust both regularly with a lint-free cloth (or almost lint-free). But I noticed a little bit of nastiness on both (that's what happens at college), and I want to know the safest and easiest way to clean it off. It's nothing major - maybe just smudges from someone touching the screen (that really irritates me) or something like that.

Thanks

I've heard that paper towels are bad because they are made of wood pulp. Anyone else hear that??

A papertowel or terri cloth towel and windex or other glass cleaner is just fine to clean picture tubes! Don't spray the cleaner directly on the picture tube but instead spray on the towel and then wipe the tube. Of course turning off the TV or monitor is a must first! The part of the tube you are cleaning is not as delicate as you seem to believe and as long as you follow the above suggestions you will be just fine!
