Please list here some good true 6.1 receivers (ones with an actual output for a rear center, not a receiver that uses a "phantom" rear for 6.1). Thanks!

You might want to put a price range you are looking in. If you don't care, the Denon AVR-5800 is the best there is.

Well, nothing <I>too</I> expensive, but nothing cheap either. I'm in Canada so something around $1000.

If you are going for broke (literally) the Denon AVR-5800 is the best out there. I just cannot see this baby becoming outdated.

I'm not sure about in Canada, but with a good deal you might be able to pick up the Denon AVR-3801 for that. The 3801 is by far the best in it's price category.

Well I could buy it and no go broke but that would end up costing me more than my 16x9 TV! :eek:

But what it means is you will have to buy a seperate amplifier to power up the rear center speaker. You will not be able to directly hook up a speaker.

Yeah that's what I thought. I don't like the idea of having to buy <I>another</I> piece of equipment.

I can say that I am extremely pleased with my Outlaw 1050.

All of the 6.1 DVD's I've tried in it sound amazing. Even something as simple as hearing the director yell "cut" etc. from the rear center of Toy Story 2 (outakes portion) adds just that extra bit of feeling that you are "in" the scene itself.

For $599 you really can't go wrong.
