I just got a Philips MX 980D. I can hear my movies through all speakers, BUT...I get no DD, and if I put in a DTS movie, I get NO sound at all.
The display scrolls "Pro Logic" and is supposed to scroll DD or DTS if its being received.
Now, this receiver has a built-in decoder for both, and my DVD player is capable of both.
What's going on here?
Is there something wrong with my setup?

mostly u have to change your dvd to output the DD/DTS signal. i had to do that since before i got a DD/DTS system...my dvd player was set to just output the Left/Right channels. read the manual on your dvd player to figure out how to make it output the stream to your receiver.

Thanks for your input, but I think I have that connection made properly.
I am running a cord out from the 'coax out' on the DVD player (Samsung 611) to the 'coax in' on the receiver.
It's really frustrating, because I thought that the connections would all be okay. It must be something weird, because when I play a CD from the DVD player, I still here it through all speakers.
Why can't I get the DTS and Dolby Digital?
I really need help, so I really appreciate ANYTHING that anyone can add.
Thanks again.
