I have been looking into getting a new receiver for my Paradigm Monitor 7s, CC370, and Atoms, and came across both of these at http://www.World-Exchange.com They are both considerably less than MSRP. The Marantz is 625.00, and the Dennon is 695.00, of coarse with no Factory warranty. I was wondering if antone has used this retailer for AV eqipment, and has anything gone wrong? I would like to see how the whole 3 year premium warranty works,(do i have to ship to them or do the pay for the shipping?) Also do these items really look new? I was also wondering how they get this stuff? I read elsewhere on another post, that they work it out with a dealer to negotiate their price on an open box, or floor model demo unit(this isnt really a problem for me because the way I see it is that these receivers arnt the run of the mill Bestbuy or circut city models, so they probably wern't abused by people, but handled by small higher end HT stores with not alot of traffic. Is it worth it to choose this road, or should I pay the extra 175.00 (800.00 list) at the local place and have a brand new unit with a factory warranty( If I were to go B&M I would get the Marantz because the Dennon would be too much) or do you folks think I should give it a shot. I you suggest going to the local place, what should I expect to pay(what do you think I should be able to bargain the salesman down to?) Thanks in advance,

hifi.com is an authorized ONLINE retailer for marantz. they have some 50 off coupons floating around that are good until the end of the month.. (might be an alternative that is less than local) ALso, local guys will usually negotiate.

I can tell you my brother got a B-stock Denon AVR3300 from U-Bid a while back, and it works great.
Only paid $550 (delivered), too.

He loves it. I don't know if they have any right now, but it may be worth a look.
