i recently bought a receiver with an extra rear center channel. Now I need a speaker for it. My 2 rears are Yamaha. Where can I find a single rear speaker? Should i buy a center speaker for it? Should it be a Yamaha?
All the rear speakers I see are sold 2 at a time.
hmmm...
thanks

I think you can get away with using a regular center speaker, but I would try and make it a Yahama. By the way, what receiver did you get? I've been thinking about upgrading to a receiver that'll do DTS 6.1 and the like.

I got the Technics SA-DX1040. It doesnt have 6.1 channels, but it has 6 channels, and a sub preout. I found it at costco for very cheap.

Your saying that it doesn't have "6.1 channels", but has six channels and a sub output. Well...sub preout= ".1".

I think this receiver only has PRE-outs for 6.1 which would mean you would need an external amp to run all 6 channels.
BUT...
Sometimes Technics does odd things. I have a Technics DPL receiver(SA-EX800) that has 100x5 and a built in 100 watt sub amp with its own 80HZ crossover. This is the only brand of receiver I have ever seen to have this.
