What's the RS232 port on my pre-amp for?

Manual says "optional - for future use"???

I think it is used for downloading new firmware for your pre-amp.

For example when a DTS-ES upgrade for your pre-amp comes around the pre-amp can be hooked to a computer to add the DTS-ES processing.
