amazon has this player available for pre-order.
it plays cd-r, cd-rw, mp3!! any thoughts on how this
player will perform...i have nevered owned a panasonic
dvd...i'm thinking of upgrading my toshiba SD-1200

I have got an RV-65 from amazon over the holidays for $207 shipped and I love it.
No problems with it whatsoever, and I make use of the decoder since my Aiwa mini-system has 5.1 inputs but no decoder. It plays CDRs and VCDs as well.
Looks like the new RV31 is the bomb though, it even has a direct subwoofer out.

I have owned a panasonic av120(I think that's the model but can't be exact) since Dec 1999. It never had any problem with any DVDs and VCDs I through into it, even the Blockbuster beaten up disks. Only thing missing is it does not play CDRs, although it works with some CDRW VCDs copies.
