I'm hooking up my new Energy Take 5 system (that I got from the Good Guys for $199 in an open box deal) and my mini-system has an RCA out for the center channel.
As I need to create an RCA to Banana Plug connection I need to know what the standard center post RCA connection should be (my instruction manual for the mini-system didn't say). So, is the center post supposed to be positive or negative on an RCA connector? Thanks! |
There's a very good chance that the RCA output from your mini system is a line-level (and not speaker-level) output.
You would therefore need to connect this output to an external amp to power your center speaker. Is the center the only channel with an RCA output? It's possible that there's also a speaker-level output for the center channel (but you're over-looking it). |
The Mini-System comes with a center channel and two surround speakers that are hard wired with RCA jacks to connect to the back of the system, so no amp is needed.
I just need to know what the standard is. |
OK, so I'm an ImpatientBastid too. Looks like the center pin is Positive.
