People,
I'm looking at putting together a Harman/Kardon AVR 210 receiver with the JBL Northridge Series - 5-Piece Home-Cinema Package and a JBL PB10 10" Subby.
Any comments? I assume it will make a reasonably cheap, great quality HT, but I've heard the Sony HT in a box gives better sound than the JBL's.
The Harman receiver puts out 40w to 5 channels and although this seems low I'm counting on crystal clear output, not volume.
Feedback would be great - I can get thist set up for about $1500AU over here, but recommendations on other stuff would be good too.

Check our site for our review on the JBL N24. The Northridge set consists of 4 N24's and a NSP1 center channel. These speakers are incredible for the money.
The only gripe we have about them is there relatively low sensitivity, which makes you need to pump more amp to them.
The JBL P10 is a nice sounding sub, especially for music. If you are going to watch more home theater than you listen to music, I would recommend going with the Sony SA-WM40. If music is your thing, you've picked the right sub.

Hello Leake,
I use the JBL N38 speakers for the front, the JBL N-Center for the center, and the JBL N28 speakers for the rear. I love the sound that they produce.
I don't know much about the JBL subs, other than the faxt there there are problems with them (not all of them, of course). The subs do get a lot of complaints.

Excellent, thanks guys (gals?).
I had actually set my sights a little higher and was looking at paying about US$3000 for an NAD a/v receiver, and Mission or Energy bookshelves and centre channel.
However, that was because I thought that I was not really getting anything of great value with the JBL and HK setup.
Would you say that Energy/Mission preduce a better sound (obviously they are more costly)?
I kinda have my heart set on a Yamaha or NAD receiver too, because these seem to consistantly get great reviews.
