I'd like to find a reasonably priced, dependable 5700. Would any online dealer (besides Ebay sellers) still have these? Are there any places where slightly used audio equipment is sold?
Any feedback would be appreciated. I want a 5700 because I only need a 5.1 setup... the 5800 has several bells and whistles I would not use. Thanks!

I doubt you would find one at a retailer. I bought my 5700 about 5 months ago right after the 5800 came out and it was 1 of like 10 in the whole Boston area. I was going to buy the 5800 but the store sold me the 5700 for $1100.
Unfortunately I think your best bet is going to be flea-bay. Personally you couldn't get me to buy anything off of that site.
You may want to try a search on "used audio equipment" on a search engine like google or dogpile.
Try these sites also. http://www.go.com/WebDir/Technology/...udio_equipment

There were more, but I got bored with it. eBay sucks. Use the audio sales sites like AudioWeb.com

I've been debating whether or not to power my home theater with separates. To do this, I would need to sell my Denon AVR 5700. If you're still looking for one, drop a mail in my box.

eCOST.com is selling refurbished ones for $1500, with free shipping I think. Here is a link to the web page:
http://www.ecost.com/ecost/ecce/shop...asp?dpno=79143
Thats probably about the only place you will be able to find one. Hope this helps

If factory refurbished doesn't bother you, look into ubid.com and spidergear.com. They are both authorized by Denon to sell the factory refurbished units (no grey market problems). Both of these sites have different models on hand at any given time, so you might want to check back often. Neither had a 700 today, but a 3300DTS is oing for $569 at spidergear and current bid price for the 3300DTS is $449 at ubid.
I bought a 3800 a couple of years ago from uBid and was very happy. Refurbished doesn't bother me for electronics since it will either arrive DOA or work indefinately. Since they have a 90 day warranty, this covers DOA and since they are authorized Denon products, you can get it worked on at a Denon shop.
Have fun.
