That is right... I am buying a V C R ! Of course no one here remembers the VCR, but for those of you who do I have a question.

Okay I debating between two Go-Video brand dual decks. One is four heads on both sides but like you can input and output only mono (just the white cord) audio. The other is also both 4 heads but also HiFi and has stereo inputs and outputs for the audio.

Should I pay the $75 or so more dollars for the HiFi one? If I don't will the tape copy in mono? I want everything to sound nice as I am making some copies of some productions I have done in Premiere to tape and need to make some good copies of them for a few portfolios.

Many thanks for any help!!

How much is this dual deck VCR? It might be cheaper just to buy 2 vcr's instead...
I would go with the HI-FI. Yes the tape will copy in mono.

Absolutely Hi-Fi. I've got a Go Video Hi-Fi that defeats copy protection. Unfortunately the new ones don't but I'd still never buy a mono VCR.

The dual deck is $299.99 @Amazon. Plus I have a $50 GC to Amazon. I already do have a VCR, however if I just buy another one to hookup to it will not I lose quality?

I picked up a couple of Go Video dual 4-Head Hi-Fi vcr's model DDV9950 for $199.95 plus it came with a $50 rebate offer about 8 months ago from Camera World. So final cost was about $159.99 after rebate and shipping. At the time this particualr model was going for about $350.00. But Camera World had them as overstock. In fact I pass this info on another board I am on and 5 others brought the same model. Our local Costco was selling this same model for $399.99 at the time but I see that our local Sam's Club has it marked down to $250 now.

You shouldn't loose any quality. Just use good RCA cables and hook them up. You should have no problems!! Just use 2 HI-FI VCR's.

If this is a one time thing then just borrow a friends to make the copies...
