I know the Wega and Tau along with some other smallish sets have the squeeze mode, but which rear projection TVs out there have it? Specifically, for DVDs, not just 1080i signals.

All of the Sony HDTV-ready RPTVs have this feature. I'm not sure about their analog sets. (I particularly like the 61" HDTV-ready model.)

This is just referring to the number of lines of resolution displayed by your television. A "1080i" signal is 1080 lines of interlaced video (the TV displays every-other line per refresh).
