OK all, I have read through all the posts with the words skipping and it seems everybody is talking about the split secound between chapters etc.
My problem is really skipping. I mean maybe halfway through the film, or anywhere really, the picture will freeze for a few seconds or skip/split or just dye.
I have had the system a while now so i decided to have a go at cleaning the lens myself.
I actually took the thing apart and gave the lens a little wipe (did the job with my normal cd player when it displayed similar traits) and it seemed to play better for a while but now it is once again unreliable.Do these lens cleaners really work? How, Surely they need to contact the lens somehow and how is that done?
Oh well too many ?'s. But the skipping is driving me mad...
any ideas?
ps Its a phillips.
"you gotta admit its getting better"
Thanx
Dave

The "cleaning discs" ar just CDs with little brushes on one side, and will do a poorer job than you can by opening up the player. My guess is that it is more likely a problem with your hardware, not the lens, and you're probably going to have to replace the player. You might want to try searching on your specific brand/model rather than "skipping" and see what other problems people have experienced with this player -- Phil/Magn 825 has had its share of woes..
