I kind of think Sony and Warner are just wasting their time and resources by adding the RCE to their sofware, for one, they should realise that selection of movies are only available in the US/Europe and people living out of this area have no choice other than to buy from the 2 above regions, before introducing the RCE, they should have first made availablility worldwide in all specified regions of any sotware they release and again they should understand that it by choice to where we buy as long as its not pirated + they should realise that they are some muti-region players which play RCE sofware, and I am sure for the people who are unable to play the RCE sofware on their DVD players won't buy and its thier loss of sales but I guess to them will just be a small loss of extra profits..

RCE has been on some DVD's since October of 2000. I believe the Patriot was the first.

Just to add to your list, Charlie's Angels - Special Edition also has RCE. I'm lucky as my DVD player, Pioneer DV717 will play them :)

First let me say I don't support piracy in any way :)

Now, personally, I think all this region code stuff is just crap. I find it incredibly disapointing that I can't get import DVDs to watch, yet I can get any audio CD I want imported and listen to it all I want.. in fact, I have several import CDs (I can't help it if the best metal comes from Europe since it's not cool enough for eMpTyV :))

You can't beat piracy, at all, ever. You can slow it down at first, but those hacker types are actually pretty clever and they WILL find a way around anything if they want to. Yeah it sucks that they can lose money because of it. I know there's a lot of DVDs I would love to own, but can't because they're not available in my region, and the chances of them ever being available is slim to none. I don't wanna have to buy a special region free player either :(
