I know that it is spelled wega, but my friend says that they say vega on the commercial. So, is everybody as sure as I am that it is wega?

I believe that it is spelled WEGA. However, if you look at the box, it almost appears that there are two 'V's (a V and a shadow of one). I know it is pronounced VEGA, though.
Hope that helps. |
This is confusing and if I were part of Sony's marketing staff, I would have changed the name.
The word looks like WEGA because that is how it is spelled. But it is indeed pronounced "Vay-ga" which is named after one of, if not, thee brightest stars in our galaxy. |
The Sony TV commercial pronounced it Vega...
I'd say that's pretty solid proof! -Gonnosuke |

It's Vega. It's named after a star and the name is German. In German w's are pronounced as v's Like the composer Wagner is pronounced Vahgner.

Just how many of these Wega/Vega question threads can we have? Looks like one every two weeks.

You say po-tay-tow, I say po-tah-tow, you say to-may-tow, I say to-mah-tow: let's call the whole thing off.
