I have a Sony STR DE-945 DTS receiver and a Panasonic DVD CV-50 DTS DVD player connected with fiber optic cable. When I play a DTS movie though, I get no sound from the DTS audio track. What do I need to do to fix this?

2 things could be wrong

1) Turn DTS on in your DVD player's set up menu. This is a very simple step that I forgot.

2) If you have ONLY tried DTS DVDs so far, maybe you have to change your receiver's input settin to accept the digital cable.

Just some ideas

I'm not sure exactly of the settings on the two models you have mentioned but the problem more than likely lies in the input/output settings on your units. You need to make sure you:

1. select the dts soundtrack on your disk
2. select the bitsream output on your dvd player
(usually accomplished through the audio button)
3. make sure the reciever is set to an auto or dts mode
4. lastly, I doublt this is the problem but make sure that if your reciever has both coaxle and optical inputs select the optiacl input.

This should solve the problem. I think there is a dedicated thread to this. Many have this problem including myself.

Hope this helps

On the panasonic remote it should be called "action". Go to your audio menu and set the DTS to bitstream. Happens to all of us.
