A lot of these "professional" SVHS vtrs are being auctioned off as they are being replaced by new digital machines. I have been copying names down and looking through JVC's and Panasonic's files.
Panasonic
7500A
AG-DS850
AG-7750
AG-1980
AG-6720A
JVC
BR-S611U
BR-S622U
BR-S811U
BR-S822U
BR-S525U
Are any of you guys familiar with this stuff, what will work and what won't? Some of their list prices approach $9,000.00
edit...A jvc br-s822u recently fetched $2,000. All of this stuff is still 480i and I imagine new hdtvs will upconvert them to 480p, maybe. Are they a waste of effort, should I rely on a jvc 9500 to exit analog or do the tbcs and other toys of broadcast machines make that much of a difference?

Bulletin from the front
This just in...Panasonic AG-DS850 pro-deck is a noisy piece of crap. I used VE on dvd and my JVC 9500 humbled the Panasonic in the two arenas that matter, resolution and solid colors. Worst reds and blues that I have ever seen. Unbelievable on a $7,750.00 machine. Didn't bother checking out the audio.
Panasonic beats JVC in the neat little buttons and lights department and it comes with a fixed speed fan that's ready for take-off.
More later, maybe. Need sleep.
