Hello everyone, I'm looking to picking up a quality DVD player and all of my research has lead me to the Arcam DV88. I was curious to see if anyone had any input on this player or maybe a different one from another company I might have overlooked. The reason I'm looking at the DV88 is because of the excellent CD playback that it is supposed to have from its muliple DACs. If I could get some feedback on this it would be great, or if someone knows of a good online dealer with good prices. Thanks for all the help http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

But I'm wondering why, unless you have a very high-end video setup where you'd notice the difference, you don't just get a cheaper dvd player, and put the money you'd save into getting a pre/pro (or receiver) with a better DAC? Of course, I ask this not knowing how much the Arcam DV88 costs. I'd guess between $600 and $1000. I also realize that you could already have all the pieces other than a dvd player, and this is the best solution for you. |
Thanks for your reply stevtevt. I just recently bought a decent receiver, the Yamaha HTR-5280, and I'm very happy with it. Right now I'm in serious need of a better DVD player, and CD player thats why I though this would be a good choice. Plus from what I've heard to match the DACs that are used in the DV88 I would have to go to high end components such as a B&K system or Rotel.
