On my system, when watching gladiator in DTS, I get some crackling in the rear speakers. I gave the disc to a friend and he doesn't get any crackling. Can the crackling be caused by the receiver or dvd player and not the disc? What could the problem be coming from? I have a passive sub and he has a powered one, would this have anything to do with it?

Do the rears crackle only on Gladiator or do they crackle on most DVD's.

People say nothing is forever. If that's true how do you explain herpes or the Greatful Dead. I say forever is for people who got the balls to make it last.

So far they have only cracked on gladiator in DTS mode. I tried american beauty DTS and didn't notice anything. My friend has not noticed the crackling on his system. They have never crackled in Dolby Digital mode.
