so being a video gamer,
how can i keep this from happening.
i know you should'nt leave the game on pause for long periods of time, but racing games that always have laps,rpms,maps,mph and other info on the corners of the screen, this is what i'm worried about.
also most televised sports display scores in a corner of the screen is this a problem and those network logos that are at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
just wondering?????

The best way to avoid this is by calibrating your set using Avia or Video Essentials, or if that's not your thing I would at least turn down the brightness and contrast. These are usually turned up way too high right out of the box and people leave it set that way.
Playing games or any other still image on the screen can cause phospor burn-in on the CRTs, but with the set adjusted properly, it shouldn't pose a problem (unless of course the same thing is left onscreen for hours and hours every single day).

Also, just don't play the same game all the time. Switch around. Sort of like how you should switch around TV stations once in a while so you don't get those little logos burnt in. I sometimes wonder about people who watch the same station all the time. No station is that "good", not even CNN or PBS.

i've already toned down the contrast and brightness when i first got my set, so i guess i should be good to go!
