Anyone can share your experience on the differences between digital coaxial and optical cable? e.g., which one is better?

I'll help you. Optical is more expensive, but if you get a bad cable it doesn't work, it's not like you get bad sound, it just doesn't work.

Coaxial is cheaper, infact you can basically use a good old video RCA cord.

Both pass the digital sound, some argue that there is a difference in sound quality but I really don't think that is an issue.

I dunno why everyone is complaining abt expensive optical cable. I saw on the web that they sell 6 ft Acoustic Research optical cable for abt 18 USD. Is that really expensive ?

I am using AR HT-181. It is a good cable.
The good thing abt using optical cable is it eliminates all the noise that I previously had when I use a regular RCA cable.

As long as u don't bent the cable , it should be fine. Normally after u install the cable, u would leave it there and forget it.
Unless u are those people who always move cables around a lot, u should be fine.
