Please help with an issue with an older Sony Sub
Been using the same Sony sub for years now & definitely got my $ worth so if you guys cant help me figure this out purchasing a new one wouldn't be a big deal. Whenever the temp seems to be above 50 the sub will not kick on. The amp powers on but there is no sound being output. It isn't overheating because it just wont work to begin with. However, if I keep a small fan blowing towards the back of it towards the amp it works. If the room temp is under say 50 it works. I've tried relocating it & even loaned it to a friend for a week & the problem persists. Weird.

Yes. I read years ago on another forum that stuffing it with polyfiill makes a big improvement, which it did, but over-stuffing could cause it to overheat. I didn't think that was the problem because it would not even kick on to begin with but I was wrong, I put too much in there. Still don't get it, but it solved the problem.
