DVD cases?

Hey, everyone. I've been searching for a particular kind of DVD case, and I'm hoping someone here will know what this type of case is called and/or where I could find it. The case is about 3.5 times as deep as a regular DVD case and holds around 20 discs. It's designed to hold discs that are in paper sleeves, so the holder inside the case is square, and the discs are stacked on top of each other. Mill Creek often uses these for their 50-movie sets and complete TV series and such. I have several of these cases, but a couple are broken and I'm trying to find replacements. So, if anyone here can help with this, I would greatly appreciate it!

Re: DVD cases?

The only time I've ever seen anything like what you're describing was with the Collections I used to see in the store like the Undead: The Vampire Collection or the Chilling Classics collection (as examples). I used to have a couple of those collections until I sold them (several years ago). They held 20 (or so) discs in paper sleeves on a spindle. I don't know what the cases are called, sorry about that...

Re: DVD cases?

Sounds similar to the "fat" cases Paramount uses for complete series:

Re: DVD cases?

^ I believe the case he's talking about has a single long spindle/holder in the center where all the discs (in their sleeves) slide down over. At least that's the way the Mill Creek "Collections" that I had were.

Re: DVD cases?

A picture from OP would clearly be worth a thousand words here.

Razorhall take a picture and post it of the case.

Re: DVD cases?

I believe this is what he's taking about, just thicker:

Mine is from a Mill Creek set, and there are no marks whatsoever, so I assume it's a cheap case from China. Off the top of my head, I don't know where to get them. If there were fewer disks, I'd recommend a 22mm Scanavo case, something like this

http://www.casetopia.com/ProductDeta...3-ONEG.PB3.KRT

which is the same dimensions as the case in the photo.

Re: DVD cases?

Interesting. I've heard of DVD sets with the discs stored in paper envelopes -- mostly budget sets like those 20-50 PD sets -- but I've never seen one of the cases.

Yes, thetao's photo above is a great example of what I'm looking for, but like he said, a thicker case that will hold more discs (around 20).

I'd like to know where to get some of these cases. I have several series I'd love to transfer to that type of case.

Those would be nice.

I bought a bunch of 8 and 10 (maybe 12?) disc cases from an online retailer last year, averaged out to just over a dollar a case even with shipping. Havenít started working in them yet, but plan to move certain genres or series to them eventually.

Re: DVD cases?

You should get one that holds up to 50 discs.
