I used to watch broadcast television and one other source (tape, LD,etc) at the same time. The volume is only active for one source though so not sure how much fun it would be to watch 2 movies at the same time.
At the moment I have a widescreen, but no PIP so I cannot test it.

I have had a DVD player and a video game system use PIP- both of them being on seperate video inputs to the TV. I see no reason why you could not watch two DVD's. However as geno pointed out you would only get sound for one of them.
By the way this thread probably belongs in the HT Hardware forum.

You could watch an unrated or special version of a movie at the same time as the regular version and see exactly what scenes were added.
You could watch 2 pornos at once so there will always be action onscreen.
