I have a new CD player coming for Christmas, and I'm looking for a CD with a burn-in tone track on it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good (and affordable) burn-in CD?
Thanks for your help! |

Thanks for your help!

Stereophile Magazine's Test CD No. 3 has a good burn-in track on it, and it's only 10 bucks. You can order it here: https://secure.rt66.com/stereophile/record.html |
What is a burn-in cd?

Burning in electronics is the oldest myth in the business. Do your self a favor and don't waste your money. The only thing that needs to be "worked in" are speakers.

I didn't realize he was asking for a cd to "burn-in" his new cd player. If anyone can point out any legitimate study, white paper, thesis (or anything) that suggests that cd players benefit from being burnt-in, I'd love to read it. -S |

I'd have to agree. I've heard of burning in new PC's but never stereo equipment. In fac tthe only reason that I ever burned in a PC was to fully test the machine and make shure there weren't any weak or corrupt components.
