so i got my hdtv ready tv, so will the hdtv set top box have to be connected to one of the two sets of inputs?
or will it replace the current internal tuner.

Depends on the set. Or are you trying to be vague?

Definitely depends on the set. I believe on the Toshiba HDTVs, the Panasonic HDTV box replaces the internal tuner.
