Should you connect the dvd player directly to the tv or should you go through your receiver? My Panasonic player has s-video out, which I am currently using, to connect to my Denon 3200. Would I achieve a better picture if I connect the s-video directly to the s-video on the tv? Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

It is usually recommended to connect your DVD player directly to the TV for your best picture (I have read this many different places).

However, if your TV does not offer you enough inputs (be it S-Video or Component) for all of your devices, going through the receiver is always a good option.

Any time you can eliminate a step in getting any signal from one place to another, there will be an increase in the quality and strength of the signal.

Thanks for the advice BartleyR7 and Dominus. I think I'll re-connect the player to the tv.
