Please be kind I am new to this forum. I have a very good Pioneer and Sony home theatre system. I am looking for a DVD Player that will play both R1 & 2, and VCDs if possible. Does such a player exist, and is it worth purchasing?

Hmmm...well, all DVD players play VCD's if I'm not mistaken.
As for a multi-region player...why would you want to play region 2 discs when you live in Region 1? Anyhow, I think with the start of the RCE, I think getting a multi-regional player is a risk for now.

My 4 players are Pioneer and Sony and only 1 plays VCDs. I want R2 because there are several DVDs available in R2 that I would love to have and cannot get in R1. I do admit that I am more interested in R2 feature than in the VCD feature.
