How can you tell if you're looking at a progressive scan DVD player when you're shopping? Also, I assume that the TV (or HDTV ready TV) needs to be able to handle a progressive scan signal. Is this true?
Any suggestions on current models available? Looking for rear projector in the 60" range. Thanks in advance. |

The player will be more expensive and prominently advertise that it is progressive-scan capable. It will also have a set of outputs on the back that are specifically labeled "pregressive scan". This will be in addition to the regular interlaced outputs such as component, s-video, and composite video. The TV needs to be able to accept the same progressive-scan input. Be aware that there are different HDTV inputs, and you must have the matching DVD component-video progressive-scan connection (3 RCA-type connections).
