I have a 32" Panasonic Superflat that I purchased a year ago. I noticed (a long time ago -- but I'm addressing it now) a faint green streak on the glass of the tube. It's only noticable under certain conditions (i.e. bright scenes). I can't wipe it off. It seems it's on the inside of the glass. It's about 3" long and it looks as if someone took a green marker and marked the inside of my TV.
What the heck is this? And is there a way to get rid of it? Lately, it's been bothering me ... but I usually don't notice it. Thanks for any insight.

I had something like this on my 27" Sony when I first got it. Never did figure out what it was though, because it went away after a day or so. It was a faint green.

I have a 27" Panny and have the same
sort of problem. Whenever there is a
scene with a mostly white background (or
other bright colors like that) it
shows up in the same spot each time.
Its a yellowish/green discoloration(sp?).
I emailed them once about it, but
got nothing back, time for a phone call
I suppose.
Oh, I have taken all speakers away from
the set and it still does it. It does
not look like it needs to be degauzed(sp?).
(speeeling iz knot my stron sute)

Man...by the title I thought you were reffering to that new John Goodman show. I don't quite have that figured out yet either, but I know it doesn't belong (neither).

I have heard of cases where spiders have managed to sneak inside of monitors...

...you *might* want to see if there's a way to take a peek inside the case to see if maybe there's a small strand of spider web in there.

Is that a trinitron monitor? I bet it is. Sony monitors and trinitrons have a grill that is held onto the screen with the bands in the back. I believe it's call an appature grill and the wire hold it up to the screen.
