I have seen all these cheap DVD players in stores for $99.

What is your opinion on whether they are worth the few bucks?

I tried a cheap one, after the second movie the audio crapped out. My advise if ya get one work it hard for the first week so it can be returned if there is any problems.

yes and no. as a second player for the bedroom then i would say they would work all right. however as a primary player then no. the lower end players all seem to have a larger amount of problems. I have one of these as a second player(ge1105) and the problems are only acceptable because i can use my real player(toshiba 3109) for movies i want to see and hear with no playback problems.
