Having possible trouble updating firmware for BD player
 

I picked up an LG BH200 combo BD/HDDVD player at Goodwill for $10, and I'm trying to make sure it has the latest firmware.

When I first plugged it into everything, there wasn't even a firmware update place to go to in the menu, like the manual said there should be. So, I loaded the latest firmware from their website onto a USB drive, plugged it into the player, it recognized it and updated, and when it was done, the update place was finally on the menu where it should be, labelled Network Update.

Just to make sure, I clicked on the Network Update in the menu, it checked for one, and said there was another update. I downloaded it, installed it, and it automatically turned off the player. I turned it back on, checked again, and it still says the previous version is on there, and it still says there's another update, the one it says it downloaded and installed before.

I've done this a half dozen times, and it's doing the same thing every time. The only thing I could find online is people saying you have to leave the player off for five minutes before turning it back on. I left it off at least that long the last few times, but still doesn't seem to be updating.

The software version on the player is now ending in 330A, but the update says it's supposed to be 410A.

Anyone have any idea what the issue might be? I know it's an older player, but I would have thought I'd be getting error messages or something if there was a problem.

EDIT: And yes, the player is connected to the internet. Didn't know if that was clear or was implied before.

I guess the main question is how well does it play movies? Most of the time when players have issues playing a newer movie it's because it needed an update.

It seemed to play the one disc I put in it okay, and it was a newer movie. I guess I'm mainly just curious as to why the update doesn't seem to be taking. Since I hadn't even played any movies yet when I hooked it all up, it must have just been a general update.
