I am looking around for the best bang for the buck. What is the best avaible TV or line of TV's? I would also be interested in the best for under $1500. Thanks in advance.

Well, you can grab a 36" Sony WEGA for around $1150 shipped from 800.com after ******, coupon, 20% off from Microsoft passport. If they still have their own 10% off sale going on for big screen tv's, that'll knock it down to the neighborhood of $1000.

I took a look at this, since I'm shopping (again) for a set to replace my Mitsubishi 27". I see ******.com offers 5% off 800.com products, plus the 10% off from 800.com on 32"+ sets through 11-22-00. Now, where would I get the coupon you refer to, and how much of my soul do I have to sell to MSFT to get the 20% through Passport?

The larger question, of course, is whether I'm better off with a 45" projection set from Toshiba, Panasonic, or Mitsubishi than the 36" Wega I have my eye on....

HeatMiser, I think I can answer one half of your question .. the one about the passport. And no, u dont really have to sell your soul to MSFT, just your wallet http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif kidding

Anyways, when you are at 800.com and on the shopping cart screen ready to check out, at the bottom u will see a "use passport express checkout" or something along those lines, click on it .. it'll bring up a passport login screen, if you dont have a free hotmail or passport account, click on "create new passport account" and it will walk you through it. Its really straightforward.

good luck!

Thanks everybody. I used all of the above mentioned discounts and ended up spending $1059 (not including savings from *bates) I can't wait to get it home.
