Anyone have this set?
I'm ---><---- that close to buying it.
It's $3700, and I Want to know what problems
, if any, people had with this set.
Help me out, convince me that I want this!
Cuz of course, I don't need it.

El Kabong has the 65x91 he loves it. He was very helpful with my questions as I am considering a 65" TV but I am leaning more towards the Diamond series Mitsubishi.

I was just in at my local HT store this evening, which carries Mitsubishi's Platinum line. Darn nice sets. The salesman started to try to talk me out of the 36" Wega I was looking at, I suppose to try to hook me up with the 46" Mitsu. His pitch was that the Wega was going to be obsolete sometime within the useful lifespan of the set--probably about 2 years--when cable broadcasts go HD.

I presently have a Mitsubishi 27" tube set that's been the best TV I've ever had, but it's getting close to time to upgrade.

They're selling the 46" Mitsu Platinum for $2,999. I'd probably spend a grand less than that on the Wega 36" I'm looking at, after I bought a new component rack to set it on.

Buying a new TV shouldn't be this difficult.

For true home theater I'd have to recommend going with a front projector! I've been hanging out at www.avscience.com for a while now and they've got some incredible people over there that talked me completely into front projection. For less than $5K you can have a 100+ inch tv hanging on your front wall! I'm personally pursuing a InFocus LP350 which can be purchased for around $4k and will produce any HDTV image about twice the size. There's also the InFocus LP340 which can be had for less than $3K!!!! Add a $500 106" screen (16x9) and you're set! Definitely worth it if you ask me. Front projection is what seperates the men from the boys in the home theater world...
