Hi All,
After doing some more researh, I've come across the Onkyo HT-484 package. http://www.800.com/prod.asp?P=3952#TB For $500 you get the Onkyo 484 Reciever, an 8" powered sub,2 moderate sized 2 way speakers, a 2 way center, and two smaller 2 way surrounds. I have read some good reviews of the reciever but I can't find anything on the speakers.I'm looking for something that sounds as good if not better for music as they do for movies and I think this Onkyo system might be a better match for me then the Kenwood HTB-503 everyone always talks about. I gave up on finding the Yamaha YHT-23 as the only place that had it was Bestbuy.com for 700 dollars. Can anyone shed some reviews on this speaker set, reciever or the package as a whole? Thanks again for any help!

Greetings. I just bought my HT sound setup and went with an Onkyo 575x receiver with PSB speakers. I looked at the 'HT in a box' sets and decided that for the quality that I was looking for I had to go elsewhere and buy individual components.
That said, you really need to test the system for yourself. Find a dealer that can set this system up for you in a showroom and listen for yourself. You need to be in a closed room (not a noisey showroom floor) and you need to have an assortment of movies AND music to listen to - basically, bring a sample of what you're going to be listening to every day. Anyway, let your ears be the judge. Also check out www.audioreview.com - I spent quite a bit of time there reading reviews of receivers, speakers, subs, etc.
Good luck!

Dunno, but don't forget to use your coupon + 5% ****** + 20% MS Passport. If you decide to buy it. You have until the 22nd.
2 years ago when I was looking into speakers I found some THX certified Onkyo speakers.
This is just to say that Onkyo makes some decent speakers (on their top of the line speakers).
