I'm a newbie.

so I'm thinking about getting an HDTV and I can't decide weather to get a front projection or rear projection.

advantages of FP.
small
wider screen size
no big box between front speakers.

disadvantages of FP
blacks aren't as dark?
needs darker room.
more expensive?

advantages of RP.
darker blacks.
less expensive

disadvantage of RP
big box between front speakers.
big box.

can you add anything to these lists?

which would you get and why?

my budget can go up to $6000

Thanks a ton!

Sorry I can't add more right now, but $6,000 isn't that much of a budget for a front projection set-up, unless maybe you look at used units. For $6K, you could get a great 16:9, HDTV rear projection set.
