Is there a Region free code for my Sony blu player?
Is there a Region free access code for a Sony BDP-S470? That's the player that I have. I had seen access codes for other players, using the remote but they were for other models. Anyone have the s470 that has unlocked the region code?

A cursory search tells me that foreign versions of this model can be made region-free for DVD, but that the hack doesn't work on U.S. models. Sony is one of the more stringent manufacturers when it comes to locking down their hardware.

I had to buy a custom-modded Blu-Ray player on eBay to get one which was region-free. Region-free Blu-Ray is really a motherfucker, it's incredibly frustrating. I bed over backward to buy the stuff legally, but they sure don't make it easy.
