I am looking for some suggestions on a new pair of speakers..
I just purchased the ONKYO TXDS989 and i am looking for an addtional pair of rear speakers. I already have POLK FX1000 and when i called Polk to order and addtional pair i was told they might not be availabe until the first of the year... my options are limited to the following if i want to stay with polk,(which I do)...
Polk FX500I or Polk RT55I... anybody with a 7.1 setup have any suggestions. Or anybody else with POLK speakers.... My only concern is how well the RT55I will do with the rear effects.... Any input would be much appreciated...thanks

I dont know if you know about this site: www.audioreview.com, but it has reviews of hundreds of speakers, including Polk.

Audioreview is about as helpful as a Best Buy employee. It is a collection of reviews in which 99% of the people have no idea what they are talking about.

Get Dynalab speakers!

Look for guys in a van selling them!

They are worth $1200 a pair yet thye will sell them for $150 a pair!

They frequent parking lots of malls and shopping centers across the country.

I bought Klipsch speakers and I love them - I was going to get Cerwin Vega, but these blew them and everything else away.

I really hope you are kidding. This is the biggest audio scam in America right now. The speakers are not even worth $150 a pair. I feel bad for you if you actually fell for this. You could also get Acoustic Image speakers out of some vans. Didn't you think it was odd that the name Dynalab sounded so close to the high end brand Dynaaudio and Acoustic Image sounds so close to the popular brand Acoustic Research? Sorry if I ruined your day after reading this. If you don't believe me just check out the two brands I mentioned on www.audioreview.com.

I have a 6.1 setup, using two Polk fx300i for the surrounds and two for the back channel. Don't want to start any wars here, but I read a lot of advice to stick with dipoles for the rear channel. Works great for me, so I'd vote for your going with the fx rather than the rt.
