Problem splitting hdmi signal between 2 TVs
So I bought a new led TV. I bought a hdmi splitter, and now have two TVs in two different rooms which share the same cable box. These two TVs will very rarely be used at the same time so I am not worried about the same content having to be on both TVs at the same time.
The only problem I have found is that when I turn on one TV, the other one turns on in the other room automatically.
Any idea why this would happen, and a possible solution to this fiasco?
Thanks in advance!

I think you're going to have to dig through the settings menus on each set. Something under HDMI (if that's a menu option) or at least some setting involving HDMI. If you've got your manuals they would probably be helpful.

Yeah, one HDMI device can sometimes be used to control another. For example, I can control my blu-ray player with my TV remote (not via IR, but through HDMI). The HDMI splitter is probably sending out a signal that makes the other tv think it's receiving a signal, so it turns on.
As coyoteblue said, there's probably a setting to disable this functionality on the TV.
