I'm looking for a quality sub for my current 5.0 HT for under 300. I know, i know, but i'm on a college budget. Does anyone have any suggestions? The room is of normal size, not my cramped dorm room. Also, what does an amp with RMS output provide that any other amp doesn't. Thanks,
Erik

RMS is just the measure of continuous power output by the amp.

A small sub with an RMS rating of 100 watts or over should be fine for your situation.
