7.1---Bad Mix ?

I was watching Jurassic Park 2, which has a 7.1 mix. I noticed that it was much louder than Jurassic Park 1, which also has a 7.1 mix. I had to turn the front speakers down to their lowest levels, as well as turn down the subwoofer slightly to get it to an acceptable level. Is this just a bad mix, or are 7.1 mixes generally much louder than normal ? With the first Jurassic Park, I also had to adjust some settings, but not to this extent. In that case, I just had to turn the night mode to low and it was fine.

You really shouldn't be adjusting individual speakers once you have your surround sound calibrated. Just use the master volume. And yes, some movies are louder than others.
